Israel sends aid team to Assist Colorado flood victims

“Biblical" levels of rain  have triggered massive flash flooding along Colorado’s Front Range mountains.   Over 17,000 properties are estimated to be damaged or destroyed.  As of now, 9 bodies have been recovered, but many more are missing.

An IsraAID relief team is enroute to Boulder, Colorado to join the efforts of American relief teams

From ShalomLife:

A relief team from IsraAID, The Israel Forum for International Humanitarian Aid - UJA’s partner since 2005 - is expected to land in Denver on September 20th, and head towards Boulder to join the efforts of national American relief teams, government agencies and the Jewish communities of Denver and Boulder.

“IsraAID aims to help local residents find and save their possessions, clean debris and gut houses so families can begin the slow path to recovery,” said Shachar Zahavi, CEO, IsraAID “As with Superstorm Sandy last November, the cleaning stage is crucial to avoid major health and hygiene issues from contaminated water, open sewage, and the onset of dangerous mold. We wish to thank UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, The Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado and the Jewish community of Boulder for supporting our efforts in Colorado.”
.
Over the past few years, IsraAID has extended a helping hand to US communities affected by disasters, including Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, super storm Sandy in New York and  tornado ravaged communities of Oklahoma.

Surprised?
Why?
That's what friends are for.
